Well it's 2012 folks, can you believe it? I can hardly! Time has been moving by so fast lately, but I guess that's just part of growing up. Anyways, here are some of my highlights of 2011:
#1 - I got married!! On May 6, 2011 I tied the knot with my very best friend, Leilanika Jeanay. We met in High School and over the years became really good friends. Even though the early years of our relationship were spent strictly "brother-sister" like, I couldn't help imagining that one day I would marry her. And I did! I couldn't be more grateful for it too. For those of you who don't know Nika, she's this creative fun loving spirit who loves to smile, laugh, sing, and take photos of everything! Our wedding was such an amazing time filled with so many awesome memories with friends and family! I'm so glad that this precious gift gets to come with me into 2012 and beyond :)
#2 - ITALY!!! For our honeymoon, Nika & I got to got to live out one of our dreams and spent 2 weeks riding in trains and boats, and driving really tiny cars across the tuscan countryside. It was a little bit of heaven :) Again, such a great memory and experience that we got to sneak into 2011.
#3 - Finished "HEROES & KINGS"! Did i just hear a "phew"? Talk about a long time in the making. I wasn't even sure myself if this CD was ever coming out! :) But it did, and it's thanks to everyone who helped make it possible. A lot of my friends helped me put the final touches on the CD and if it wasn't for them, it would've taken a lot longer! I'm so glad that I can finally hold the product of the countless hours spent making this thing. The only thing left to do now, is get these fellas out to all your friends and families! If you keep reading and I'll tell you how.
Well there it is friends.. just a few monumental occasions to celebrate and remember. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store. And I hope for all of us 2011 would be a reminder of God's great faithfulness and steadfast love for us.
SO.... to celebrate the new year, I'm making 2 of my songs downloadable for free! All you have to do is "like" my facebook page (if you haven't already), and on the LISTEN HERE page, hover over the 2 tracks ("Faithful" & "Children of Light") to reveal the "download" link. Not too hard right? :) All I ask is that you spread the word and share the page to some of your friends and family that you'd think would dig my music. Deal??? Deal!
Alright! :) Well that's it for now! Thanks for taking the time to read this post and don't forget to leave me a comment to let me know you dropped by! HAVE AN AMAZING YEAR! :D
Yesterday, "Heroes & Kings" came out on iTunes :) I can't describe how unreal it felt to watch those tracks show up on that screen. As I started listening to each preview, it finally hit me that I did it. I actually made a CD. This task that I've been given has been completed and I can finally move on to the next phase! :) There are a bunch of new tasks awaiting me, but wow, there is so much to be thankful for.
About 2 years ago, I started working on this CD. It was a daunting task but I knew that it was appointed by God and that he was gonna use it for his purpose, whatever that is. I didn't have anything much to work with, just a microphone, some guitars, some awesomely talented friends, and my laptop with Garageband. I remember staying up late at night wondering how on earth am I going to make these songs come alive the way I wanted them to.. But it didn't matter, I was going to do the best I could with what I've been given...
This CD really means a lot. It marks the end of a season, as well as the beginning of another. My goal right now is to get "Heroes & Kings" into the hands of everyone it was meant for and savor this moment I get to reap the fruit of my labor. Everytime I hand the CD to someone, a part of my heart smiles. :) I feel like santa claus :)
Well, so it begins, this new journey into promoting and getting my music out there. I must pause and thank everyone who has supported me and cheered me on to this moment. It's because of you that this CD got done as soon as it did! Thank you for being apart of this journey and please don't forget to drop by often for news and updates.
